Aliamanu-Salt Lake Neighborhood Board (NB 18)
The Aliamanu-Salt Lake Neighborhood Board (Board 18) is one of 36 neighborhood boards in Honolulu. It holds monthly public meetings where residents can discuss community concerns, hear updates from city and state agencies, and provide input on issues affecting their neighborhood.
What This Neighborhood Board Does
The Aliamanu-Salt Lake Neighborhood Board represents the communities of Aliamanu, Salt Lake, and Moanalua on O'ahu's Leeward side near the airport, addressing development, traffic, school capacity, and military land use issues that affect this mixed residential and military-adjacent district. It reviews city plans and agency actions and forwards community recommendations to elected officials. The board coordinates with military installation neighbors on shared infrastructure and public safety matters.
Why You Should Care
Residents of the Salt Lake, Aliamanu, and Moanalua neighborhoods can use this board to formally raise concerns about development, traffic, or public services in their area. Monthly public meetings are the primary venue for community input on neighborhood issues.
