Home for Life Task Force

The Home for Life Task Force examines policies and programs to enable Hawaii's rapidly aging population to remain in their homes and communities as they age, rather than being forced into institutional care. The task force addresses the intersection of Hawaii's housing crisis and its demographic shift toward an older population.

As Hawaii's population ages and long-term care costs rise, the ability to remain safely at home becomes a critical issue for seniors and their families. The task force's nā ʻōlelo aʻoaʻo could lead to new state-funded programs, tax incentives for home modifications, or expanded in-home services.
