Kauai County Council

Ang Kauai County Council is the seven-member legislative body for the County of Kauai, which includes the islands of Kauai and Niihau. The council adopts the county budget, enacts ordinances on zoning, taxation, and public services, and provides oversight of the county's executive departments. Members are elected at-large island-wide and represent all communities from Hanalei and the North Shore to Poipu and the South Shore.

Every Kauai resident is directly governed by the council's decisions on property taxes, zoning rules, county services, and the annual budget. Council meetings are the primary public forum where residents maaaring magbigay ng testimonya on legislation before it is enacted — and where priorities for county spending are debated.
