Native Hawaiian Historic Preservation Council

The Native Hawaiian Historic Preservation Council advises the State Historic Preservation Division on matters affecting Native Hawaiian cultural sites, burial sites, traditional and customary practices, and the preservation of places significant to Native Hawaiian history and culture. It reviews federal and state undertakings that may affect historic properties, provides guidance on culturally appropriate treatment of sites, and helps ensure Native Hawaiian values are incorporated into historic preservation decisions. The council serves as a liaison between the preservation program and Native Hawaiian communities.

Native Hawaiian人 and anyone involved in land development or public projects that may affect cultural sites have a stake in this council's work, which shapes how Native Hawaiian heritage is identified and protected across 該州.
