Neighborhood Commission Office
The Neighborhood Commission Office (NCO) administers Honolulu's 36 neighborhood boards, which are the primary way residents participate in local government decisions affecting their communities. Each board holds monthly public meetings where residents can raise concerns, hear from city agencies, and vote on community priorities.

Ang Neighborhood Commission Office administers Honolulu's system of 33 elected Neighborhood Boards, one for each district across O'ahu. The NCO provides staff support to all boards, oversees board elections, maintains mga pampublikong rekord of board minutes and resolutions, and ensures compliance with Hawaii Sunshine Law open meeting requirements. It does not make land use or policy decisions itself — it supports the boards that do.

Neighborhood Boards are the most local level of civic participation in O'ahu government. Your neighborhood board can formally transmit resolutions to the City Council and mga ahensya ng lungsod, give or withhold endorsements on development projects, and hear directly from your neighbors about community concerns. Attending a neighborhood board meeting is the most accessible entry point to civic life on O'ahu.
