OahuMPO-Policy Board

The OahuMPO Policy Board is the governing body of the Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization, composed of elected officials and agency executives from the City and County of Honolulu, the State of Hawaii, and the federal government. ʻĀpono ʻia the Long Range Transportation Plan, the Transportation Improvement Program, and major policy decisions that determine how federal transportation dollars are spent on O'ahu. Its decisions carry the weight of federal requirements and govern billions of dollars in transportation investment.

The Policy Board's approval decisions determine whether and when major transportation projects in Honolulu — from rail to road widening to bus expansion — move forward with federal funding.
