Office of Information Practices (OIP)

The Office of Information Practices (OIP) administers Hawaii's Uniform Information Practices Act, providing guidance to government agencies and the public on the right to access government records and the limits of that right. It issues advisory opinions on records access disputes, reviews agency denials of public records requests, and provides training to agencies on open government requirements. OIP also administers 該州's 公开會議 law, advising on when government bodies must meet in public.

If a government agency denies your request for public records or you believe a public body violated 公开會議 requirements, OIP is the agency that enforces Hawaii's transparency laws.
