Ka Hana a Kēia Papa

The OHA Board of Trustees is the governing body of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, a semi-autonomous state agency established by the Hawaii Constitution to better the conditions of Kānaka ʻŌiwi. The nine-member board sets OHA policy, approves its budget, and makes decisions about land, assets, and programs held in trust for Kanaka ʻŌiwi beneficiaries. It negotiates with the state on ceded land revenues and advocates for Kanaka ʻŌiwi rights at every level of government.

OHA manages hundreds of millions of dollars in trust assets and runs programs in housing, education, health, and ka hoʻomohala waiwai that directly serve Kānaka ʻŌiwi. Trustees are elected statewide, so every registered voter in Hawaii has a say in who sits on this board.
