OHA Board of Trustees

The OHA Board of Trustees is the governing body of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, a semi-autonomous state agency established by the Hawaii Constitution to better the conditions of Native Hawaiian人. The nine-member board sets OHA policy, approves its budget, and makes decisions about land, assets, and programs held in trust for Native Hawaiian beneficiaries. It negotiates with 該州 on ceded land revenues and advocates for Native Hawaiian rights at every level of government.

OHA manages hundreds of millions of dollars in trust assets and runs programs in housing, education, health, and economic development that directly serve Native Hawaiian人. Trustees are elected 全州, so every registered voter in Hawaii has a say in who sits on this board.
