Ano ang Ginagawa ng Komite na Ito
Ang Planning and Sustainable Land Use Committee reviews community plan amendments, special management area (SMA) permit appeals, land use boundary amendments, and subdivision ordinances for Maui County. Pinangangasiwaan nito ang long-range planning for Maui, Moloka'i, and Lana'i, kabilang ang updates to community plans that guide growth for the next decade.
Bakit Dapat Kang Mag-alala
Community plans are the governing documents for how each district on Maui, Moloka'i, and Lana'i is allowed to develop. Testifying during community plan updates — which happen every ten years — gives residents the greatest long-term influence over what their communities will look like. SMA permit decisions also direktang nakakaapekto sa coastal access and shoreline development.
