Reentry Commission

The Hawaii Reentry Commission coordinates state and county agencies, nonprofits, and community stakeholders to improve outcomes for people released from incarceration in Hawaii. The commission develops and monitors implementation of a comprehensive reentry strategic plan addressing housing, employment, treatment, and family reunification for returning residents. It works to reduce recidivism and support successful reintegration by aligning services and identifying gaps in the reentry system.

Hawaii incarcerates a significant portion of its residents out of state, and the reentry system affects public safety, family stability, and community health across every island. Formerly incarcerated individuals, their families, service providers, and 社区成员 can engage with the commission to shape reentry policy.
