State Fire Council

The Hawaii State Fire Council coordinates fire prevention and firefighting policies among 该州 and county fire departments, developing uniform standards, training guidelines, and mutual aid agreements. The council advises 州长 and legislature on fire safety legislation, reviews building and fire code proposals, and promotes consistency in fire protection services across 该州's four counties. It also addresses issues specific to Hawaii's fire environment, including wildland-urban interface fires driven by invasive grasses.

Hawaii's growing wildfire risk — dramatically illustrated by the 2023 Maui fires — makes coordinated, well-resourced fire services essential for every community. 居民可以 engage with the council's public process to advocate for better wildfire preparedness, fire code updates, and adequate fire department funding.
