Statewide Independent Living Council

An autonomous, consumer-controlled council established to advocate for the civil rights and independent living of people with disabilities across Hawaii. The council partners with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) to develop and monitor the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL).

Ano ang Ginagawa ng Konseho na Ito

Ang Hawaii State Independent Living Council (SILC) nag-aabiso sa estado on policies affecting people with disabilities who want to live independently in their communities. The Council develops and monitors the State Plan for Independent Living, coordinates with the state's Centers for Independent Living, and recommends improvements to housing accessibility, transportation access, personal assistance services, and assistive technology programs. Ito rin ay reviews federal funding allocations under the Rehabilitation Act.

People with disabilities, their families, and caregivers are direktang naaapektuhan by the services and policies SILC helps shape.
