What's Being Discussed

The Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs (PABEA) Recognition and Awards Committee is holding a short planning meeting on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 9:00–9:30 a.m. The meeting is available both in person at 250 S. Hotel Street, Suite 406, Honolulu, and online via Zoom.

The main focus is planning the upcoming Older Americans Month celebration, scheduled for June 12, 2026. Key topics include:

• Confirming the event date, location (15 Craigside), and overall schedule — modeled after the 2025 celebration
• Event logistics such as table setup and meal options (regular and vegetarian)
• Planning the program order and requesting proclamations from the Governor and Lt. Governor
• Deciding on lei quantities and arrangements for music performances at Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center
• Reviewing a menu for 15 Craigside
• Updates from Area Agencies on Aging and from Olelo (a local community media organization)

The next committee meeting is set for March 5, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. via Zoom.
