• Charter contract renewals for three Hawaii public charter schools. For each school, the Commission will review academic, financial, and organizational performance, examine the school's renewal application, and decide whether to renew or not renew its charter:
  • Ka Waihona o ka Naʻauao Public Charter School
  • Kona Pacific Public Charter School
  • Kua o Ka Lā New Century Public Charter School

Decisions Expected

• A vote to approve or reject the January meeting minutes.
• A vote on the charter contract renewal for each of the three schools — the Commission will decide whether each school continues operating under a charter, and if so, under what terms and conditions.

• Students, families, and staff at Ka Waihona o ka Naʻauao, Kona Pacific, and Kua o Ka Lā — the outcome directly affects whether these schools remain open and under what conditions.
• Community members and advocates interested in Hawaii's public charter school system.
• Anyone may attend in person in Honolulu or join via Zoom or phone. Public testimony is welcome — each speaker gets two minutes per agenda item. Written testimony can also be submitted by email to commission.mail@spcsc.hawaii.gov.
