What's Being Discussed

The Electric Vehicle Battery Recycling and Reuse Working Group is holding a meeting on June 26, 2026 from 10 AM to 12 PM. This group was created under Act 209 to address how electric vehicle (EV) batteries are managed at the end of their useful life. Topics on the agenda include:

• A recap of recent activities from a smaller subgroup (called a PIG, or Program Implementation Group) since the last meeting in February
• Forming a second subgroup focused on best practices for handling EV batteries responsibly
• A discussion on what options EV owners currently have when their battery needs to be replaced or reaches end of life — both while under warranty and after warranty expires
• Planning the working group's schedule for the rest of 2026
