What's Being Discussed
The Hawaii Data Task Force will meet on June 29, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. to discuss how the state is using data and artificial intelligence (AI) in government. Key topics include:

Recap of recent events: Updates from the Hawaii Data & AI Summit (May 2026) and a national State AI Officers Summit held in Atlanta.
Federal AI policy: A review of new White House executive orders related to AI innovation and security.
Responsible AI and data use: Discussion of guiding principles, risks, governance structures, and how to evaluate AI tools.
AI usage guidelines: Plans to expand the state's Generative AI Assistant guidelines so they work more effectively across all state agencies.
Active AI and data projects: Progress updates on data sharing between the Department of Corrections and the Department of Human Services; and a virtual assistant tool for the Department of Transportation that works across web, phone, SMS, and social media.
