What's Being Discussed

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Board of Trustees is holding a short, focused meeting on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting is primarily about an ongoing lawsuit against OHA:

• Closed (executive) session: The Board will meet privately with its attorneys to discuss the case Stacy Kealohalani Ferreira v. OHA (Civil No. 1CCV-25-0001822). This includes advice on the Board's legal rights and responsibilities and discussions about court filings. This portion is closed to the public by law.
• New Business (open session): Following the closed session, the Board will discuss the same lawsuit in an open setting, specifically around authorizing and filing court documents.
• Community Concerns and Celebrations: Members of the public may raise any topic — not just items on the agenda — during this standing portion of the meeting.

• The Board may vote to authorize the filing of legal documents related to the ongoing Ferreira v. OHA lawsuit.
