What's Being Discussed

The Contractors License Board Applications Committee will meet on August 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. to review contractor license applications from individuals and companies seeking to work in Hawaii. The meeting is held both in person in Honolulu and virtually via Zoom.

  • Applications for new contractor licenses across a wide range of trades, including general building, electrical, plumbing, roofing, tile, painting, landscaping, sheet metal, air conditioning, and more
  • Applications for additional license classifications from contractors already licensed who want to expand the type of work they can perform
  • A license reactivation request from one applicant
  • Two bond waiver requests from individual applicants
  • Several dual license applications, where one person serves as the qualifying individual for more than one company

Decisions Expected

The committee will review each application and make recommendations to the full Contractors License Board. Approximately 49 or more applications are on the agenda. The committee is not the final decision-maker but plays a key role in evaluating applicants before the full board acts.

Who Should Pay Attention

  • Contractors and businesses who have applied for a new or expanded license in Hawaii
  • Competitors or industry members who may want to comment on specific applications
  • Consumers and community members interested in who is being licensed to perform construction work in the state

Public testimony is welcome. Written testimony can be emailed to contractor@dcca.hawaii.gov. Each speaker is limited to five minutes per agenda item.
