What's Being Discussed
The Endangered Species Recovery Committee (ESRC), a public body under Hawaii's Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), is holding a public meeting on August 6, 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Kalanimoku Building in Honolulu (Room 322B). The meeting is also available to join online via Zoom or watch on YouTube.

Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) Technology: Staff from the Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW), along with representatives from KAZE Power and Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation, will present information on this type of wind energy technology. The committee will then discuss and offer comments.
Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) Program Update: Staff will provide an update on the current status of projects under review and give a preview of upcoming changes to existing project plans.

The committee will vote to approve meeting minutes from 13 previous public meetings dating back to March 2024.
