What's Being Discussed

Mauna Kea transition planning: The committee will discuss forming a small working group (called a Permitted Interaction Group) to study how the University of Hawaiʻi should hand off management of Mauna Kea — including property and responsibilities — to the newly created Mauna Kea Stewardship and Oversight Authority (MKSOA).
Committee goals for 2026–2027: Members will set priorities and objectives for the coming academic year.
Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) overview: A general update on UH's construction and facilities improvement plans, including a master plan review.
CIP status report: A progress report on capital projects funded in fiscal year 2026–2027, reflecting activity through June 30, 2026.

Decisions Expected

The committee may vote to appoint a Permitted Interaction Group to lead findings and recommendations on the Mauna Kea transition. All other items are discussions with no formal vote expected at this time.
The committee will also approve minutes from a previous meeting held on May 7, 2026.
