\n• HB 2218 - authorizes the DLNR to enter into community co-management agreements
\n• Program Plan Open Discussion - public meeting in May – currently in 60-day public comment
\nperiod through end of July
\n• August - October - compile revisions and complete Final Plan
\n• Nov & December - Internal final 60-day comment period/end of contract
\n4. Trail and Access Specialist Staff Report - Time: 15 minutes
\na) Staffing Updates
\n• Specialist V Role filled
\nb) Trails impacted by severe weather
\n• Most of the damage was downed trees and erosion
\n• Met with FEMA to discuss damages from severe weather and requested additional funding for
\nlong term repairs at Kealia Trail
\n• Kealia Trail is Open
\n• Manoa Falls Trail significantly damaged from Kona Low storms. Conducted an assessment and
\nplanned contract work to address severely eroded sections of trail
\n• Poamoho road and trail have undergone in-house repairs and are reopen to the public
\n• Waimano landslide repaired in-house
\n• Kanealole\, Hau’ula Loop\, Kaunala were significantly damaged – repaired in-house (Kanealole
\nwill need additional repairs/potentially contract work)
\nc) Program Projects & Ongoing Operations - Open for questions from the council.

\n• Mānoa Cliff – Rockslide closure and detour\, bench reinstalled
\n• Manoa Falls removal of broken infrastructure

\n• Kaiwa Ridge\, draft reservation system
\n• Mokuleia Trail landslide addressed
\n• Poamoho Trail vegetation clearing up to upper bench
\n• Hawaii Loa Ridge stair removal
\n• Addition of Pauoa Flats Trail to Oʻahu Commercial Trail Tour Activity (CTTA) Inventory
\n• Discuss trail review process with Advisory Council

\n• Trail maintenance focus shifting towards erosion management and removal of damaged stairs
