What's Being Discussed

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) is holding a community meeting for Molokaʻi residents on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place in person at Lanikeha Community Center in Hoʻolehua and can also be attended virtually. Six community organizations will give updates on issues affecting Molokaʻi:

• Hoʻāhu Energy Cooperative will share next steps for a community energy resilience plan for Molokaʻi.
• Mokulele Airlines will provide an update on recent service improvements and changes.
• Molokaʻi Cares will report on how OHA relief funding is supporting community hubs on the island.
• Hoʻaka Mana will explain how it has used OHA disaster relief funds to support recovery from the Kona Low storms.
• Kalamaula Homesteaders Association will describe the support their Kiowea Park Hub provided during the Kona Low storms.
• Mokupuni Community Development Corporation will give an update on storm recovery and their path forward.

There will also be time for general community concerns, celebrations, and announcements.

This is primarily an informational and community engagement meeting. No formal votes or binding decisions are listed on the agenda. OHA will provide updates on its activities and hear from the public.
