What's Being Discussed

Two OHA committees — the Committee on Beneficiary Advocacy and Empowerment (BAE) and the Committee on Budget and Finance (BF) — are holding a joint meeting on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. The meeting has one main item of business:

• CEO/Administrator hiring process: The committees will conduct first-round interviews and select finalist candidates for the permanent position of OHA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Administrator. This portion of the meeting will be held in closed (executive) session to protect the privacy of candidates still in the early review stage.

Once finalists are chosen, their names will be announced publicly, and they will participate in public interviews before a final selection is made at a future open meeting.

Decisions Expected

• Committees will review first-round candidates and select finalists to advance in the CEO hiring process.
• No other votes or actions are listed on the agenda.

Who Should Pay Attention

• Native Hawaiian beneficiaries of OHA, as the CEO leads the organization that serves their community.
• Anyone interested in OHA leadership and how the organization is governed.
• Members of the public who want to submit testimony on the CEO selection process — oral testimony is limited to 5 minutes, and written testimony should be submitted at least 24 hours before the meeting to botmeetings@oha.org.
