What's Being Discussed

The Contractors License Board Applications Committee will meet on October 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. to review applications from individuals and companies seeking contractor licenses in Hawaii. The meeting is held both in person in Honolulu and virtually via Zoom.

• Dozens of new license applications covering a wide range of trades, including general building, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, roofing, painting, structural steel, fire protection, and more
• Several applications for additional license classifications from contractors who are already licensed
• Applications involving dual licensing arrangements between related companies
• A reactivation request for a previously held license
• Deferred applications from September 2026 that were not resolved at the prior meeting

Decisions Expected

The committee will review each application and make recommendations to the full Contractors License Board on whether to approve or deny licenses. No final licenses are issued at this meeting — the committee's role is to evaluate and forward recommendations.

• Contractors and business owners who have applied for a new or additional license and are waiting for a decision
• Individuals listed as Responsible Managing Employees (RME) on pending applications
• Members of the construction industry interested in licensing standards and new market participants
