What's Being Discussed
- Executive Director's Report: Staff will share updates on current O'ahu transportation planning activities, federal funding status, and summaries from recent advisory committee meetings. This item is for information only — no vote required.
- Traffic Signal Optimization and Demand Management Study: City and County of Honolulu transportation staff will present findings from a completed island-wide study on improving traffic signal timing and managing travel demand. The study produced a detailed computer simulation model that can help planners analyze traffic conditions at the street corridor level, both now and in the near future.
- Acting Executive Director Appointment: A small group called a Permitted Interaction Group (PIG) was formed earlier this year to lead the search for a new Executive Director. The board will discuss and vote on that group's recommendations, including a proposal to temporarily assign Dallas Ige as Acting Executive Director.
Decisions Expected
- Approve the Traffic Signal Optimization and Demand Management Study and authorize submission of documentation to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
- Accept the Executive Director Search report and approve the temporary appointment of Dallas Ige as Acting Executive Director.
- Review and approve minutes from the September 28, 2026 meeting.
Who Should Pay Attention
- O'ahu commuters and drivers interested in how traffic signals and congestion are managed island-wide.

This meeting is open to the public and can be attended in person at 707 Richards Street, Suite 200, Honolulu, or virtually via Zoom. Written testimony is encouraged and should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance to OahuMPO@OahuMPO.org.
