What's Being Discussed

• Energy Efficiency Financing (Resolution 26-100): The committee will review a proposal to enter into a financing agreement with TD Equipment Finance, Inc. to fund the next phase of an energy improvement project at County facilities managed by Johnson Controls, Inc. The total cost is $9,021,259, financed at a 4.49% interest rate. This type of agreement is tax-exempt, meaning the County pays no federal taxes on the interest.
• County Grants Program Rules (Bill 73, 2026): The committee will consider a proposal to create uniform, Countywide rules for how the Maui County grants program is administered. Individual County agencies could still adopt their own internal procedures, as long as they don't conflict with the Countywide rules.
