Resolution 26-116\, entitled “AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF\nWATER SYSTEM ASSETS FROM LAUNIUPOKO WATER CO.\, INC.\nAND OLOWALU WATER COMPANY\, INC.\, FOR UP TO $6\,000\,000\,\nEXCLUSIVE OF CLOSING COSTS AND EXPENSES\, UNDER\nSUBSECTION 3.44.015(C)\, MAUI COUNTY CODE.”\nResolution 26116’s purpose is to authorize the acquisition of water system assets\nwith the associated easement rights from Launiupoko Water Co.\, Inc.\nand Olowalu Water Company\, Inc.\, for up to $6\,000\,000\, exclusive of\nclosing costs and expenses.\n2. Correspondence dated June 30\, 2026\, from the Deputy Director of\nWater Supply\, transmitting appraisal reports\, each dated June 24\,\n2026\, for the water system assets owned by Launiupoko Water Co.\,\nInc. and Olowalu Water Company\, Inc.\, respectively.\nStatus: The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of\nResolution 26-116\, with or without revisions. No legislative action will be taken.\nCorrespondence from Committee Chair 07-27-2026\n\nBILL\n101 (2026)\,\nON\nCHARGES (BFED-64)\n\nTAXICAB\n\nBAGGAGE\n\nAND\n\nEQUIPMENT\n\nDescription: The Committee is in receipt of Bill 101 (2026)\, entitled “A BILL FOR AN\nORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5.16\, MAUI COUNTY CODE\, ON\nTAXICAB BAGGAGE AND EQUIPMENT CHARGES.” Bill 101’s purpose\nis to update taxicab baggage and equipment charges by:\n1.Increasing the charge that may be added for equipment and baggage\nhandled by the driver\; and\n2.Authorizing a $10 charge for each transported oversized baggage\, golf\nclub bag\, or item weighing more than 50 pounds\, in addition to large\npet crates\, bicycles\, and surfboards.\nStatus: The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 101\n(2026) on first reading\, with or without revisions.
