What's Being Discussed

This is a reconvened meeting of the Maui County Council's Disaster Recovery, International Affairs, and Planning (DRIP) Committee, continuing work from September 21 and 22, 2026. The sole agenda item is:

• Bill 108 (2026) – South Maui Community Plan Update: The committee is reviewing a proposal to replace the old Kihei-Makena Community Plan with a newly drafted South Maui Community Plan. This plan guides how land is used and how growth is managed in the South Maui region.
• The committee will focus on Section 4 (Implementation and Monitoring) — how the plan would be put into action and tracked — and, if time allows, Section 3 (Growth Framework), which addresses how and where development may occur.
