The Honolulu Police Commission is the civilian oversight body for the Honolulu Police Department. It appoints and evaluates the Chief of Police, approves the HPD budget request to the City Council, reviews use-of-force policies, and investigates civilian complaints that have exhausted the internal HPD process.
