Radiological Technology Board (Noise and Radiation)

The Radiological Technology Board, housed within Sở Y tế's noise and radiation program, licenses and regulates radiologic technologists and related healthcare workers who perform X-ray and other imaging procedures in Hawaii. The board sets competency and safety standards, reviews applications, and investigates complaints to protect patients and the public from radiation exposure risks. It ensures that medical imaging in Hawaii is performed by qualified, properly credentialed professionals.

Every time you receive an X-ray, CT scan, or other radiation-based imaging in Hawaii, the technologist performing it must meet the standards set by this board. Patients who have concerns about radiologic safety or practitioner conduct can file complaints with the board.
