Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii

The Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH) is an independent state instrumentality that supports UH's research mission by administering grants, contracts, and research projects on behalf of UH faculty and researchers. RCUH manages personnel, procurement, and financial functions for research projects funded by federal agencies, foundations, and private sponsors, operating with more flexibility than standard state government processes allow. It enables UH researchers to compete effectively for and administer the hundreds of millions of dollars in research funding the university attracts annually.

UH research funded through RCUH generates knowledge, jobs, and economic activity across Hawaii while addressing pressing local challenges from coral reef health to hurricane preparedness. The public benefits indirectly from this research, and community members can engage with UH's research priorities through public forums and advisory processes.
