The Prior Authorization Working Group — a group under Hawaii's Statewide Health Coordinating Council — is holding a one-hour meeting on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 9–10 a.m. "Prior authorization" refers to the process where health insurers must approve certain medical treatments or prescriptions before a patient can receive them.

A review of notes from the previous meeting
A presentation on Delaware's approach to prior authorization reform, led by the chair of Delaware's Health Commission and the CEO of Smart Health Network — the group will explore whether Hawaii could adopt a similar strategy
