Meeting minutes: The Board will review and approve notes from its July 9, 2026 meeting.
Wrapping up draft rules workgroups: Four small working groups (called Permitted Interaction Groups) were formed to help draft new rules covering law enforcement certification, training, instructor standards, professional conduct, and disciplinary procedures. The Board will formally dissolve these groups now that their work is complete.
Job Task Analysis update: Staff will provide an update on a request for proposals (RFP) to hire outside help for a Job Task Analysis — a study that helps define what skills and knowledge law enforcement officers need to be certified.
Hiring an evaluations committee: The Board will discuss forming a committee to review RFP submissions for the Job Task Analysis. Note: The identities of committee members will be kept confidential until a contract is awarded, so part of this discussion may happen in a closed (executive) session.
Hiring committee for Administrative Manager: The Board will appoint members to help evaluate candidates for a staff management position.
Proposed 2027 legislation: The Board will discuss and potentially approve proposed legislation that would give the Board authority to access fingerprint-based criminal history records for people applying for law enforcement certification and for current officers.
