What's Being Discussed

The Maui County Council's Water and Infrastructure Committee will meet to consider one item:

• Resolution 26-123 — A proposal to allow Maui County to use certain types of herbicides (weed-killing chemicals) on County-owned property. County rules normally restrict herbicide use, and this resolution would grant a special waiver to bypass those restrictions in specific locations.

• The committee is expected to discuss and potentially vote on whether to approve the herbicide waiver. If approved, it would allow County workers or contractors to apply certain herbicides at various County sites that would otherwise be off-limits under current Maui County Code.
